Committees

Double Decker Spring Run Committee

Plan, coordinate, and execute the Annual Double Decker Spring Run, held on the last Saturday in April each year. Specific details and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: race day set up, registration, food donations, awards, door prizes, and promotion of event. Committee meets monthly beginning January- April.

Junior Leadership Steering Committee

Serves as a planning committee organizing and coordinating Junior Leadership sessions throughout the program, which runs January to April of each year. The Junior Leadership Lafayette program is designed for 10th grade students in Oxford and Lafayette County. The program assists local high school students in developing leadership skills. Sessions are developed to introduce the students to team building techniques and goal setting strategies. Committee meets primarily in November and December to plan program, then as needed during program: January-April.

Leadership Lafayette Steering Committee

Serves as a planning committee organizing and coordinating Leadership Lafayette sessions throughout the program, which runs January to August of each year. The Leadership Lafayette program trains leaders by developing leadership skills through activities promoting community awareness, team building and project development.. Committee meets primarily in November and December to plan program, then as needed during program: January-August. Committee members must be graduates of the Leadership Lafayette program.

4th of July Community Celebration Committee

This committee plans all facets of the annual LOU Fourth of July Community Celebration. Committee meets monthly, February-July.

Shop Oxford Committee

Provide a vehicle to keep Lafayette County dollars at home for the benefit of local community. Shop Oxford campaign primarily focused around the holiday season. Propose new products and ideas that will further the goals and objectives of the campaign. Committee meets primarily during last quarter of the year.

LOU Ambassadors

The LOU Ambassadors are a prestigious group of individuals from the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce member investors who volunteer to enhance communication between the Chamber staff/Board and its membership. More importantly, the Ambassadors are vital links in helping the Chamber understand the needs of its membership. Ambassadors represent their business while networking at Chamber functions and events, simultaneously increasing business’ visibility and exposure in the community. Business Support Committee

Advisory committee comprised of representatives from the OLCC small business membership. The purpose of this committee is to provide input to be used by OLCC staff for planning ways to support OLCC small business members in the local community. This committee plans the annual Business Development Seminar Series, which is a series of free workshops and seminars to assist the business community in various areas. Committee meets as needed.
