Junior Leadership Program
The Junior Leadership Lafayette program is designed for 10th grade students in Oxford and Lafayette County. The program assists local high school students in developing leadership skills. Sessions are developed to introduce the students to team building techniques and goal setting strategies.
Leadership Lafayette Program
Leadership Lafayette, which runs January to August of each year, is a program that trains leaders by developing leadership skills through activities promoting community awareness, team building and project development.. Applications are available each October/November with class selection in December of each year.
LOU Ambassadors
The LOU Ambassadors are a prestigious group of individuals from the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce member investors who volunteer to enhance communication between the Chamber staff/Board and its membership. More importantly, the Ambassadors are vital links in helping the Chamber understand the needs of its membership. Ambassadors represent their business while networking at Chamber functions and events, simultaneously increasing business’ visibility and exposure in the community. Members chosen by application process once a year. Limited to 25 members.
Annual Awards
The Chamber honors local leaders and businesses through an annual awards program. Awards categories include: Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Oxford/Lafayette Business Icon Award, Outstanding Service Award, Ambassador of the Year Award and the Citizen of the Year Award. These awards are presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting in May of each year.

Oxford Newcomers and Friends has been welcoming both newly relocated retirees and those not yet retired (NYR) new residents since 1999. Our mission is to provide awareness of what our community has to offer and the opportunity to build new friendships. And our friends enjoy it so much, some have been members since the beginning!
