The Division offers educational programs, camps, professional development, and continuing education programs to youth, students, and adults.
Professional and Workforce Development
Workforce development courses are offered to individuals at the undergraduate and graduate level. The program also works directly with businesses to develop and deliver training directly to their employees; this training can be delivered at the business or at UM.
Online Professional Development Training
Through two systems, Ed2Go Online and American Management Association (AMA) Online, UM provides over 400 classes for professional development. AMA courses are self-paced and available at any time. Ed2Go courses are instructor led. Classes include the fields of accounting, communications, customer service, human resources, management, manufacturing/operations, manufacturing/quality, marketing, project management, strategic planning, supervision, team building and more.
Displaced Workers Program
As a provider for Mississippi Workforce Investment Act Programs, UM works in conjunction with local WIN Job Centers to offer specific programs. These programs provide education and training to Mississippi’s workers at UM’s 5 campuses. Applications must go through a WIN Job Center to qualify.
Aerospace Industry Workforce Development Intern Program
Aerospace-related businesses at the Stennis Space Center can receive interns from the Mississippi Space Grant Consortium program for a period of 10 weeks. This allows the student to have hands-on training while providing the business with a stronger potential work force. Students will be in the junior or senior year of their studies. Graduate students may also apply.
